    Jim's Mobile Incorporated ​manufactured this series of "Next Generation Telescope" in the 1990's. They featured large, quality f/4.5 mirrors in an open tube with an equatorial mount. They were highly transportable; this one can be broken down into small components and transported in the trunk of a car. This one features shaft encoders so it knows where it is pointing and motors for fine control of the telescope. Large motion, such as needed to move from one object to another is done by pushing on the tube with the help of a small computer with the data of 12000 objects.
